Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Have you always wanted to celebrate becoming a B. Mitzvah but never had the chance?  Keneseth Israel offers Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation, based on interest. 

If there are enough students, this class will run one day a week during the semester, with the day, time and location determined by the needs of the students.

Students will then have the opportunity to sign up for Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation, which will be a continuation of the class culminating in a spring ceremony.

Our program will begin in September (we are still finalizing dates and syllabus). The program will extend from Sept. 2024, and it will culminate with a ceremony in January 2026.

It will include a number of areas of study, including: Hebrew, prayer, Bible, and Jewish history. It is our hope that through this course of study students will develop a deeper sense of their Judaism and connect meaningfully to a small community of learners.
